VERY DARK SKIES!
Mount Carleton Provincial Park is located in the north central part of New Brunswick. Located far away from any large population centres it boast some of the darkest accesible skies in North America. It also offers a wilderness location with plenty of wildlife and sightseeing. Some of best salmon and trout fishing rivers in Eastern North America begin in the park! It is not uncommom to share your campsite with rabbits, or see a moose or few while paddling your canoe down one of the lakes. It is this remote wilderness that also provides us the dark skies.
Ammenities
It also means isolation from ammenities. There is running water, flush toilets and hot showers at the park. However there is no store, no resturant an no power! If you need power for your telescope please bring a power supply and make note that thereis no means to recharge it on site unles you bring a solar pannel. This means no lights but also means you must bring in everything you will need. Food, fuel, gas to name a few. The nearest small town with a gas station and small stores is some 35km away.
